I recently bought the Wilderness Systems Ride 115x from Mariner Sails and here are my thoughts and first impressions of the yak and how it differs from my previous Ride 135. www.YakSmack.com

Xalt. You will love it. Much more rigging options than previous Wilderness models.

Hello , I have a few questions for you:
1. What is the difference between the Ride 115 vs 115x? 2. I am looking at a used 115 but was reading that yes it is stable to stand on, but not a real fast yak. I plan to take out on Texoma. I do not mind paddling but concerned if it has a lot of drag in open water. I have a ocean kayak mini x 9.5 ft and it SUX on long rivers or open water getting to any place on short time. 3. Yes I would love to get a hobie with the flippers but out of the budget. Any info is helpful. Justin.

It is 33" wide BassFever. The Ride 135 is 31.5". Its an impressively stable platform.

I dont think the Ride 115x paddles too bad at all, now i dont go out in rough water or go on terribly long paddles, but its def worth demoing

Enjoyed the write up but still have a couple of questions... 1. Is the Lowrance Fish Finder console standard in the 115X or is that an extra cost? 2. It shows to be removeable so how does it keep a water tight seal? (I am guessing it isnt open to the hull but is more of like a huge sculpper) 3. What does it look like with the fish finder console removed? Guessing a big hole? Maybe they will make additional options to stick in there for extra storage?
Lastly, is the seat the same Phase 2 adjustable seat from last year or is it new as well?
I need to go demo one of these. This thing looks awesome!
