South Texas 5 held it's first tournament of the year at coleto creek jan.4th
13 teams entered and what a nice day it turned out to be.
48 degrees and got up to about 71 with water at a low 56 degrees.
No wind in the morning till about noon when the wind came in pretty strong from the southeast.
The boat ramp was challenging with some boats bottoming out at the boat ramp trying to load back on the trailers.
This year ST5 with help from new directors we plan on having a great year and making Tournaments better and more up to date with results.
New Sponsors are arriving with crankbaits, rod condoms, hats, discounts and of course 100% payback.
Now for the fishing report.
With calm water in the morning the topwater bite was not good.
Crankbaits did good when the wind came in.
Soft plastics texas rigged did good.
A lot of chunky 2 pounders came in to the weigh in with big bass coming in at 5.50.
.
We have a few bugs to work out and we will be addressing that quickly.
