Inspired by some of the amazing jig makers on this forum, my oldest son decided to try his hand at creating some of his own crappie catching jigs. I will preface all of this by saying that he isn't going to give Jigum much of a challenge as far as appearance and durability are concerned, but his jigs did the trick. He tied up a few jigs and they all caught some fish, but his most productive jig was his pink and blue creation. I don't post many pictures as I live in West Texas and don't get a chance to fish as often as I'd like and I get to fish with my boys even less than that as they live a few hours away with their mom. That being said, I had to post this one picture of some crappie the boys caught on their jigs this past week. I was proud and they were happy!

What is the trick to getting the picture to pop up instead of having to click the URL?
Also, if anyone has a good lake to recommend (prefer a dock if possible) to take my boys fishing on during spring break I would appreciate it. We are planning a trip with Lane already, but I know they will want to fish more than that. I would definitely prefer a PM as I don't want to advertise anything unnecessarily and I don't expect any "secret" locations. Just a place where they can be kept busy while catching fish as a decent pace (even throwbacks). Thanks guys and I will post more pics if I can figure this whole thing out. Good fishin'

Good job, especially with something they made themselves.

The fishing barge at navarro mills can be very good that time of year. You can camp right there in the park and walk down to the barge.

Thanks for all the input gentlemen! Those two have been fishing since they were two years old, but have just recently been afflicted with the ol' MCD and I couldn't be happier. The ONLY problem is that I may have created a monster here. They may actually be crazier about fishing than I am. And Ketchn, your inbox is FUUULLLL, or I would PM you for sure. I will be on vacation from January 24th-Feb 2nd trying to catch a few slabs of my own...hope to see some of you out there!

I'm proud of those boys for the effort they've put in tying and catching... And I've never met them. WTG Boys! Jigum
