Coleto Creek Park staff will perform maintenance work on the Coleto Creek Park boat ramp Jan. 13 thru 17, 2014, temporarily closing the ramp and dock until work is completed.

All launching of boats will be restricted that week. GBRA staff has scheduled this maintenance to take advantage of the current low reservoir level, which will allow easier access to perform the needed maintenance, Wilfred Korth, Coleto Creek Park chief ranger explained. It also is a good time of year to perform maintenance because of the low volume of recreationalists using the reservoir, he added.

Park staff expects the boat ramp to reopen for normal usage by Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014. Park and reservoir users may contact the Coleto Creek Park Office at 361-575-6366 to inquire about status of the ramp opening. We appreciate the patience of our constituents while our staff performs this necessary maintenance during this time, Korth said.

Nice of them to post something and give boaters a heads-up. Some places won't give you a hint that they are going to do something. Like, let's say, Lake Raven in Huntsville State Park.

Be safe,

GBRA is good about press releases. I just happened to see this while checking conditions on Lake Wood this week.
