Love my LED nav lights as well! I also added red deck lights as well.

They are legal. My Z520C has the nav lights mounted to the sides of the bow from the factory.

I made a mark on the center of bow then using tape I landmarked it on equal distances on each side. Then used tape again to tell me when the cut needed to stop on each side. Took a razor knife and went very slow cutting into center(replaceable) section of trim till I had enough removed to place the LED strips in. They have a strong adhesive backing but I made sure to recess them in the trim si they do not take brunt of impact with tree or dock etc.
I then drilled the smallest hole I could to run into the bow of boat. Make sure you use a marine silicone when done on the small holes. You will have to remove bow panel to access light base wiring. I just tied off into it and cleaned it up connection wise.
That's really all there is to it. Took maybe an hour tops.

Sounds easy enough! Thanks!

so is the rub rail thick enough to recess without cutting all the way through the rubber?

Looks good Mark. I did the same as you but I installed mine above the rub rail. The LED Nav. Lights are a lot brighter making them easy to see.

Mark, so does each strip i.e. red and green each have a single wire and that is the wire you ran through the hole? 2 wires?

How long are the l.e.d. strips?

I can't decide between 9" or 18" on each side. What did you go with?

Each strip has a red and a black wire. Very easy to connect
