Is there still a chance to hook into some hybrids and cats down in there. Same with the crappie around those gravel pits. It hasn't rained in a while, and I haven't been there. Just looking for some reports. Feel free to pm.

I snuck in and fished it a few weeks back. I didn't catch anything, but did NOT get hung up on the bottem. When they worked on the am, they cleaned all the junk out. It is pretty deep by the dam.

Still tons of shad in the area.

Hopefully they will finish the park area and open it back up.

I went for the last two hours of the day. I threw texas rigged worm, white swim jig and inline spinner. I couldn't get a bite. I fished the dam down to the new boat ramp they put in. It gets shallow by the ramp.

There were a bunch of white birds hitting the water and picking off threadfin shad. I saw lots of shad floating.

I wonder if cleaning all the junk off the bottom will hurt the fishing. I saw It before the let the water back in, the bottom was chunky but no stumps or anything sticking up. Great not to get hung up,but maybe nothing for the fish to relate to now.

Haven't been there since the project started, does anyone know when the park will be back open? I heard they pulled 3 cars out of there.

Here is a link to a picture of some of the cars
http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/20-Cars...-229352551.html

Here is a link to a picture I took when the water as blocked off from the front of the Dam.

http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/9430335/Dam_Repair_at_California_Cross

They put in new boat ramps above and below the dam, they have not finished up the pavement that leads to the boat ramps as off 3 weeks ago.

With all the shad I have seen on the edges of the Dam, this area has to draw some predator fish in.

Wow. A lot more going on than I thought. 20 cars. I've lost at least 5 rattletraps amongst other lures in that one spot. I see why now.

20 cars!!! That is craziness. I see why/how I lost 5 bottom rigs in less than half an hour.

Do any of yall eat the fish from there? I would think that the water around that area would be polluted... from businesses, or lawn chemicals at the businesses...etc.
