Been fishing Falcon rods for about 2 years, they seem alright? Thinking about switching over to Dobyns. I fish mainly jigs, T-Rigs, Square bills, and spinner baits. Can any one shed light on Dobyns rods? Are they worth the cost?

What Falcon line are we comparing to which Dobyns line. I have Falcon rods I would not trade for Dobyns and Dobyns I would not trade for Falcons.

I'm fishing the Cara series for jigs and plastics(Amistad and Head Turner). Cranking and spinner baits ( Bucoo micro 7" Trap Caster).

I'd take a Dobyn's Savvy over any Falcon....

Falcon customer service sucked the only time I tried to use them.

I messed up and broke a Dobyn's Extreme.....paid my $60 and walked out with a brand new rod!

$60? That seems steep, when I had to send a falcon in I sent it to them with $20 for shipping and they fixed me up. Probably can't go wrong with either brand but Falcon is all I use and gets my vote.

60 to replace a almost 400 $ rod that's not bad, the price has gone up some this year

I have a several of each. I have a Dobyns Extreme 734 that when flipping/casting T-rigged plastics all day I never want to put it down. I also have a few Falcon Lowriders (lizard dragger) that are among my favorite rods ever. I give the an edge to my Dobyns overall but if price is a big concern to you I honestly don't see the $100 difference between my Falcon Lowriders and my Dobyns Extremes.

I have a savvy and a amistead. The savvy isn't even close to the amistead.

i love my Dobyns rods but have to agree that $80.00 to cover a rod is not the deal of the century. Barely noteworthy.

It needs to be made clear here that the Dobyns exchange fee of $80.00 is the no questions asked exchange program. If the rod is a manufacturing defect then you will NOT have to pay the $80.00 and it will be replaced as such.
They have a very good warranty program but the $80.00 is NOT warranty. Its a replacement deal in case you break it and are at fault for the break. Two different deals.

Oak Ridge charged me $100 back in November. I guess I paid shipping as well?

And I agree $80 to replace a $350+ rod is a deal!

Not sure why but I would ask Barry, Tracy or Ernie at Oak Ridge to get clarification. I know it recently changed from $60-80.

Oh I asked at the time and was told it was $100.

They must add on an extra $20 to cover shipping, not a huge deal. It's just $20...

I've got a few dobyns and a few falcons. Hard to pick a favorite. The cara's are very light, lighter than the dobyns I think. My dobyns extreme seems to have a slight edge in sensitiviy over the cara's though. I have not had to warrany a falcon rod yet. I've had excellent service from dobyns the few times I've had to deal with them and I like their no questions asked rod replacement just incase I do something stupid and break the rod.
