Went below PK to knock off the dust off my fly rods. Been busy hunting. My dad did catch his first trout on a fly and buddy caught his first ever fish on a fly (bluegill). He did have to use my wife's 5wt. It is pink smile My first fish of the day wasn't a trout but this guy. There were several buffs, shad, and carp in this hole. Caught it on a 3wt with a squirmy wormy fly that me and my kids tied that morning. I did finally catch a trout later that day.

Sure nice to hit the water. Ready for some more.

There are lots of suckers in the Guadalupe that are spawning right now, so I'll often tie into one of them while fishing for trout (since trout love sucker spawn). Small dark nymphs will catch both species.
