Currently the lake is sitting at 3.17 feet low, the temperature is 46 to 47 degrees and the water is muddy. I wish I had a lot to say, however Largemouth Bass fishing was very, very slow. Fished the marinas, the dam, coves, points and in the backs of coves with very little success. Fished a Jig, a Jerkbait, and Crankbait form a 1.0 up to a 2.5 Squarebill. I fished a Spoon, a “C”-Rig and a Texas Rigged Baby Brush Hog and didn’t get a bit. Finally used a weightless Senko and boated my first fish. To be fair, I did fish it on Saturday with an air temperature of 38 degrees, overcast skies and a 15 to 20 MPH north wind. All in all it made for a long hard day of fishing. If you plan to venture out on Lake Waco good luck, be careful and plan on a long slow day of fishing. Always wear your PFD and dress warm, it can get cold out there. crappie fishing was slow for me a few days ago, lots of fish gathering at old dam area and staged off points, along with lots of baitfish, in small pods. I think the sudden forcing of the baitfish to deeper water by the coldfronts, has bunched the gamefish and baitfish all together, making it easy pickings right now for the gamefish. Timing will be everything for the rest of winter, because thier feeding window will be short, but voracious.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

It has been a tad tough but it usually is this time of year. That being said somewhere on the lake there are fishing feeding. Just looking and trying to find them is fun and worth the trip.
