I just want to take this chance to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! This is such a special time of the year and it's the one time of the year we reconnect with so many special people and I look forward to every minute of it.

I personally am looking for a lot more rain and just a little less cold weather. We have seen the lake rise a little in the last couple of weeks and it really made a big difference with launching the boats. Richland Chambers is 8 feet low and water temperature is 48 degrees.

Catching catfish is just about the only thing I can count on right now and it's a blast so don't count them out. They are really nice fish; fight like CRAZY and very good eating.

Our sand bass and hybrids just seem to go dormant in this chilly water and to tell you the truth I do also. It's been a wonderful year and it's really okay to slow down just a little. During my slow time, I look more towards equipment repairs and anything that Ive been putting off during peak fishing periods so this is my chance to catch up.

Little maintenance on the motor, rod and reel repair, upholstery work and yippee, some boat polishing. Everything needs to be in top shape in this business to get the most out of your investment and to make sure there are no problems on the water.

I have ordered the new Mini Kota I Pilot trolling motor and should have it on the boat in a few weeks. It will be a huge help to me by making it easier to stay on fish and take care of my customers so I guess MERRY CHRISTMAS to me!!

Also I want to invite everyone to join me at the Mesquite Tackle Show January 10th, 11th, & 12th. Last year was their first year in this area and I thank everyone really enjoyed it. A lot of neat guest will be at the show this year so if you can, come check it out. It will be at the Mesquite Convention Center which is next door to the Mesquite Rodeo so drop by my booth and lets talk fishing.
