I am wanting to get a decent ultra-light rig with a budget of around $50 or so, anyone have any good suggestions? Can you even get a decent one within my budget? I've never priced them before...

Several guys here use the Shakespeare ultra-light combos with great success. You can find them everywhere for less than $50 and occasionally on sale for around $30.

You can piece one together at Academy for that price or less. I hear that the H2O rods are decent and you could pair it with a Pflueger Trion or Abu Garcia Orra S Spinning reel.
