I'm taking my boys down to Ocheechobee for a few days after Christmas and I was going to get them each a new flippin stick and put it under the tree. Here's my question...
If you could have any rod you wanted for flippin the grass mats down on Big-O which would it be? Price is not a concern. I'm mainly looking for brand of rod but if you have a specific model that would be even better. Dobyns? Loomis? Denali? Duckett? Others?
Thanks in advance for you input.
Dennis

Dobyns 745 is a good one ! Good stout rod and still light for your boys.

St Croix Legend Tournament TBC76MHMF. The medium heavy has plenty of backbone, lightweight, and great warranty. Not too stiff like the Heavy actions rods. Ive tried all the high end rods and this is the best IMO.

Falcon Cara! I use my Amistad rod to pitch and flip and does the job. Good luck!

Would run about $600 with all the bells and whistles. I really hope someone does this for me sometime soon... Can personalize a message, put their names on it, or a picture of your signature. If thats too pricey I'd go with a KLX at the $150-$175 range or the new Helium 3 in the $250 range. American Made blanks (Gary Loomis) Texas built rods.

OK I fish Okeechobee at least once a month. I have to say that Denali is a great rod for getting through the thick stuff. I use Duckett cause thats what I already had when I moved here. But all around top 3 rods are Denali, Powell, and Fitzgerald.

One rod that will do it all is a Loomis 784 Heavy action IMX 7'
Middle of the road price point and indestructible.
You can buy an 8' broomstick but you are so limited to what you can use it for.
