Hey there, I am at Lake Conroe for a week, and am wanting to do some onshore Bass fishing. Would appreciate any tips on what to use and when, etc... Am staying on a cove, off the main lake, so am a little limited in terrain, but there is a boat slip that goes out about 40 feet and about 10-12 feet deep. No visible structures other than the boat slip, and no visible vegetation to fish. Any tips or advice? Live bait vs. artificial, top water vs. deep?

just get some minnows and figure out what's around that boat slip. if you catch some bass i wouldn't hesitate to through a green hue jig and chunk or slow roll a big willow bladed spinnerbait or slow roll a swim bait around the bottom. don't live near conroe anymore but grew up fishing there and spent a lot of time bank beating and fishing off marinas/ boat slips. this is what i would in your situation.
