Just wanted to let you Kayak'ers know that the Tira Ramp on Cooper you were able to drive down to the water. Now there is a barricade so you can only go to the bottom of the ramp with your truck.

Thanks for info slim. Did you hear if there had been an issue with driving out to the point? Better yet, did you fish it and if so, how did you do?

I deadsticked over by the horseshoe today, couldn't get out until around 1:30, fished to dark with no luck. I hoof'd from the public access walk down area past the dam to lessen the paddle, but the deepest spots I could find were only 16ft and no bait fish in sight or on the screen. I plan on using Tira this week to see if I can't find anywhere a little deeper on that side and hopefully some schooled up bait / hybrids.

If anybody (especially those of you with more winter Texas striper fishing experience then me) are headed out this week / weekend, give me a shout out.

I was hunting on the WMA this weekend and went by to see how bad it looked. I haven't fished the lake in 2 months. I don't know why the corps put up the barricade. You can see where people were driving down to the water. I guess they didn't want to be troubled if anybody got stuck.
