What's the deal with all the Tilapia it seems like they are taking the lake over. I remember going out there and going through 3 packs of plastics because the bass would tear them up. Now on the other hand I go through that many packs with the back 3 inches ripped of due to tilapia in 3 hours. These little devil fish wont leave my stuff alone. Ive noticed that the few bass I catch are extremely healthy but I just cant catch the numbers. I guess my question is what is this tilapia problem going to do to this lake because they are every where and the bass are getting harder to catch. Are there other lakes that have had a negative impact by the introduction of tilapia? Don't get me wrong I know that bass eat the heck out of them but there are tilapia in there that are massive, way to big IMO for bass and the average catfish to eat. So they have no natural predators once they get that big and they are reproducing like crazy. I know Falcon is loaded with them but its also loaded with gill netters on the Mexico side and all those giant gar keeping them in check again IMO, but theres neither of those in Squaw. Im no fisheries/marine biologist but it seems like they are or will be taking the lake over before long.

I saw a guy at Fairfield catching them on a float and night crawler right of the bank back to back. I've only caught the cranking and on small swimbaits.

Same here I've caught them on everything I've used out there. Which make me think that they are taking the lake over. I thought that they were mostly aquatic feeders but when im catching them on moving baits it make me wonder how bad of a problem they could turn into out there.

Night crawlers man. The freakin love them. Either on bottom or on a bobber, anywhere shallow where you know they live.

The tilapia at squaw hit squarebills for me. We've caught some monsters out there that hit the grease.
