Well I had a chance to go fishing Sunday because we finally slowed at work. Since Lavon is out of commission and Hubbard has been slow I told my co worker David to meet me at High port at Texoma at 8:30 AM because I figured the rain would be past us. And I was right.
There was almost no wind the entire day and if it blew it was only about 5 mph at the most. It was a perfect day weather wise with clouds and not cold but cool and the water was calm. J.D. and Lenahorse Larry were right about the birds. There were a million of them out there.

We found the boat show and the birds out north of the islands and my buddy David hooked into a 25 inch and a 24 inch and I hooked a 18 inched. Then we had a hard time until about 3:00 PM when we were heading in and found a mother load of fish and birds on the way back to High Port. We were the only boat on a school when a big 60 foot cabin cruser came trolling right through them and they scattered. mad But we managed a few before then. Then the fish regrouped and we got some more I got my two overs being a 21 and a 22 inch and several more. I had one come off trying to get it in the boat --LOL--. And the smallest was about 17 inch up to 19 7/8 inch. Good box fish. And evertime we would get on that school here comes ole cabin cruser with his two poles out trolling right through them. I will have to say I was rather distraught with him and his party crowd But David kept me at bay --LOL-- grin

Any way the fishing was slower than previously reported but I think we did pretty good for not been up there since last memorial day.
Thanks J.D. for the reports and Thanks Larry lenahorse for the tips from your trip earlier in the week.

Here are a few pics:

My 22 incher --LOL--

Keith-

I think we saw you in the boat show north of north island. I pulled up a little late in a skeeter with a friend and his son. Boats seemed to be spread out too much and I didn't have the patience to sit there and try for the suspended fish running the channel. Our day ended up like yours-weather was perfect, birds helped, and with the exception of a cabin cruiser (or two) we caught all overs. Nice problem to have I guess. Picked up a few in the mouth of Big Mineral then went over to Platter and caught the rest of our fish. Slabs and sassy shads. I tried dead sticking a fluke but didnt get any bites. Every striper we cleaned was full of shad. Our smallest striper had 10 medium size shads in its stomach. No fish in the Willis bridge area, no fish at the Cross, no fish at Goose Island, no fish shallow around the islands...if that helps someone save on gas.
