It feels like years since I posted here. But, it's only been since April. Life has been a tornado of events since I accepted a promotion and began the move to Austin. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. The house has sold. Wife has a job. Kids are in school and finally both truck and boat are out of the shop. I can go fishing again! Not this weekend of course but soon.

Good news is Austin is a little closer to POC than Lufkin was.

I was wondering where you're been. Staying at Clark's W/E after next. Can't wait to get the line salty.

Boat is full for next W/E but we should get together in the spring.

Update the profile. You're a hippie now.

Austin is a good central location to hit the entire coast.

PISD is 7
Baffin 5
POC / PA 4
Matty 3
Galvatraz 3-4
Big Lake 6

all within an afternoon drive.

I feel ya... my boats in the shop at Evans Marine in Houston... good people right there.

I think with the toll road I can make POC in maybe 3.5 hrs if the kids arent causing me to stop every 30 miles. In summer, I may actually be there before dark. For years my standard routine was roll into POC about 11:30 pm, spend 1-3 hours getting everything prepped for saturday depending on if we needed to make bait for offshore, grab a few hours sleep, and hit the ramp. Now being "only" 3.5hrs away and having the boat in a slip, I won't know what to do with all the extra sleep.

I usually drive down the night before... get there at 12 and sleep. then fish a couple days. I can't do the early morning roll ins anymore.. oh I could... but it's not fun.

Can't wait to get the boat rigged and ready now... some good striper action awaits on Buchanan ...that's my other fish ;-)

Rigging the poles up now for some POC action this weekend. I normally drive down 183 until Cuero and pick up 87.Leave about 8:30 on Friday, check in to Clark's and hit the bait stands before they close. Stay out until 2AM or the bite is off. So looking forward to it. Brother meets us there with the boat.

You're tight on the money TS. Went out this time last year and caught a boat load of trout. Only 1 slot red and no bulls. Few Mangroves in the mix. We were just saying, "What. No reds?" Inside big Jetty. I prefer trout as table fare anyway. Great trip. Let's see what this W/E produces?

Congrats on your move to the Heart O' Texas.

Austin is a great town to live in - well besides Rockport.
