Navarro Mills Lake Friday October 18th with Milton Meadows and Eric Emeritz in my boat and Wayne Kilgo and David Holman in Wayne’s boat. Hard to believe but only 1 keeper and about 10 throwbacks between the 5 of us. Fished lots of condos and used various color jigs but no fish and very few bites other than the ones we caught. The lake is up about 1 ½ feet but the color of the water in the main part of the lake was ok. Lake Waco Monday October 21st with David Holman and Wayne Kilgo. Another day of fishing but not much catching. We managed 10 keepers and lots of throwbacks from brush piles in 8 to 15 feet of water. Red body chartreuse tail on a 1/16 oz chartreuse jig head was the best today. Going to give Cedar Creek a try in the morning. Lake Waco

Dang!!! I feel so much better about my weekend now. LOL. I am still major rook on the crappie and spent sat afternoon and Sunday morning trying boat docks on Texoma and only caught a couple. Still going to get minners tomorrow though. I may be lazy but I ain't dumb.

At least you were out there. The bad days make the good ones so much better! Side Note: Good thing happen when you keep fishing.

The last few weeks have been slow on crappie for us as well. We have caught a lot of lmb and catfish but few crappie keepers. We caught 30-60 crappie on most days this summer but they are all undersized, with few keepers. But the last week has been slow for us with crappie. A lot of lmb and catfish, but few crappie. However Saturday we managed to catch an 11" and a 11 3/4" crappie, which are the largest we have caught the last three months. The crappie started biting at 6:00 P.M. and stopped at 7:30 P.M but we caught 30 crappie while they were biting, with 11 keepers and the two nice ones. But the catching is the fun, so it doesn't matter whether it's crappie, lmb or catfish biting, the eating of crappie is just a bonus.
