Ok I need some advice from the pros... I've been fishing grapevine almost every weekend been finding lots of brush with my lowrance. Almost every place I stop at ill catch 3-4 crappie then nothing. I try changing depth changing the area of the brush I fish try bouncing in the brush just can't figure out why I'm only catching a few on each spot when I see them with structure scan. Sometimes I even catch a couple when I don't see any on structure scan. Am I doing something wrong or is this common this time of the year? Any advice will be appreciated!

There are times at the Vine when the best way to limit out is to run and gun. You will need twenty or more spots to hit to make this work. It is not all that uncommon to do this style of fishing but some days it takes maybe 3 to 4 good spots to put 25 to 40 fish in the boat from each spot, notice I never said brush piles. Not saying brush piles don't produce but there are a lot of spots I hit that are natural cover like rocks or plastic man made cover. Just keep on fishing this lake because she is a wonderful lake. Hope this helps a little.

I think every lake can be that way. Some days we have to hit lots of spots to get a mess of crappie. Other days it only takes a couple of spots. Sounds like your doing it right. You may notice an increase in your catch as fall aproaches and the crappie feed more. You may also try using live bait or scent on your jig. This will sometimes trick a few more into your boat.
Good luck

crappie have a lot of different modes it seems to me
if we find the fish are not doing well on one spot we move to another ...
I think its quite common to find them scattered and then some days they are stacked ...
we always hope for the stacked days , but we find them scattered out a lot of the times as well ....
grapevine also has tire reefs , I never fished em but I know they been in there for ever ...
I think the corp put them in maybe ?
it was a great place to ketch crappie when I was a young man ...
I am also pretty sure it hasn't changed
best of luck to you
