Spent most of the past two days on the water and the bite is much improved on CCL, not as good as it will get as the water temp continues to drop but, excellent compared to summer and early fall.
As those of you that know me, know that my 'go to' bait is Jigum's Halo Magic. Check it out on his website if you aren't familiar with it.
The past two days have done nothing but, confirm my choice as the best jig for at least CCL if not everywhere! I used nothing but the HM and outfished my partners maybe 10 to 1 until he stole one of my HM's and immediately started catchin crappie. He threw just about everything at them without a bite but, I mean immediately hung one with my Halo Magic!
After Thursdays outing, I stopped by Jigum's and picked up two dozen more as the brush was brutal on them and I can give you directions to some brush piles that must look like Christmas trees with all the HM's haning on them but, you'll need your scuba gear to retrieve them!
Jigum Jigs do catch fish and the Halo Magic is magic for crappie, especially on CCL!

Bob, you need to try his Cypress Slab Slayer. It is a plain looking color combo, but it works great for me. I'm going to get some more from him, might just have to get a couple of HM's to try too.

The Cypress Slab Slayer is very similar to Jigum's 'Surrender'. The only two jigs currently in my jig box!

Halo Magic Cypress Slab Slayer I think I have a couple of HM's. I know I have a couple of Bobcat's. I want to see if he makes some 1/32's when I place my order. Green was the ticket here Thursday!!!!! Or I started with green & then went to a translucent green chart bait  One of my favorites:

Yea, my daughter Rachel, hammered me with a Halo Magic on Aquilla this spring...however, the Greasebath is the color of the past few weeks....just saying, either way you can't go wrong....  Say, did you and Jigum finally kiss and make up over the game? Or are you STILL IN DENIAL? hehehehe
