After seeing the thread in the bass section about Golf and Bass Tournaments, it gave me an idea for a tournament format that I first fished in Oklahoma with Bass Champs a few years back. Its a high entry/high payback format that may not be for everyone. But after meeting with the Hood Co. Sheriff's office, whom we partner with to support the Child Advocacy Center, we feel it will raise the donation amount that we donate every year. I wanted to post here to see if there is any interest. We have 34 teams committed so far, and I will post them as we get them.

At Fun-n-Sun we are always trying to do something that nobody else in the market area will do, and on Dec 14 &15 we are planning a different way to have a great time, win money, and more importantly donate money to the Hood Co. Child Advocacy Center.
The HCCAC is a special group of people who provide counseling and stability for abused children and we have raised in excess of $24,000 in the 3 years we partnered up with the Hood Co. Sheriffs Dept. to raise funds for the children. Fun-n-Sun was the first to put on a tournament on Squaw Creek before the lake opened post 911. A lot of you guys were some of the first to jump in and help that first year and both the HCCAC and team Fun-n-Sun are humbled by what you did.
Now, we are proud to announce a tournament format that we first fished in Oklahoma (Bass Champs and some of the LSB Boys are familiar with them) but are the first to bring into a dealership level. Its called the

Fun-n-Sun Fish-n-Chips Tournament

It will be a Texas Hold Em Poker Tournament at our FNS Hurst location at 3:00 Sat 14th. We will smoke briskets with all the trimming (including free beer!) for everyone to eat- plus other activities for anyone hanging around to watch their partners mad poker skills. The bass tournament will be on a CLOSED PRIVATE Squaw Creek for just the anglers of the FNS Fish portion of the event.
\
Here's the basics of how it will work:

The first 100 teams to commit are in

100 teams @$400 each = $40,000

10% donated to Hood Co Child Advocacy Center, in accordance with the Hood Co.Sheriffs Dept.= $4,000

10% to cover expenses = $4,000 (any money left over from cost will be added to the Charitable contribution)
$32,000 to be paid out as follows:

SAT NIGHT HOLD EM TOURN(at Fun-n-Sun Boats in Hurst) SUN BASS TOURN (at Squaw Creek)

Main Table Payout $12,500......... Squaw Creek Payout $12,500
1st $5,000 ............................... 1st $5,000
2nd $2,500 ...............................2nd $2,500
3rd $1,250 ...............................3rd $1,250
4th $750 ..................................4th $750
5th $600 ..................................5th $600
6th $500 ..................................6th $500
7th $500 ..................................7th $500
8th $500 ..................................8th $500
9th $400 ..................................9th $400
10th $400 .................................10th $400
Bubble$100 ................................Big B $100

Aggregate Bonus Payout $7,000 (combined average of your finishes)

1st $3,000
2nd $1,500
3rd $700
4th $600
5th $500
6th $400
7th $300

POKER TOURNAMENT PORTION

Each team will have only one player play for their team. However, if both members want to play, then they can switch off each blind level and play the same chip stack until they are eliminated. Blinds and levels will be aggressive, as to keep the tournament in an adequate time frame for everyone to play, eat and be home in time to get plenty of rest for the fishing portion on Sunday. Approximate times will be 3:30-8:00. I will provide 10 tables and 10 professional dealers with a tournament manager for Hold em. We will provide food and beer for all contestants, including the non poker playing team members who come to watch. registration will be done at Fun-n-Sun on Saturday for everything including weight slips, waivers, lake rules, take off time, etc.

5 FISH FISHING TOURNAMENT PORTION

Take off and weigh in will be at Squaw Creek and handled by Bass Champs in accordance to whatever they deem fit for this event. All funds will be paid at the lake for both events immediately following weigh in. BOTH CONTESTANTS MUST FISH THE TOURNAMENT! This will prevent having a non fishing card pro only play cards while the angler fishes solo. The Sheriff's Posse and Fun-n-Sun will be serving food at weigh in.

The first 100 teams to commit are in, and I have 33 teams already committed. Please reply on here to save your spot, or call me or Monte if you have our numbers. Once we get 100, we will start an alternate list in case of cancellations.

THIS IS GOING TO BE A LOT OF FUN, AND NO POKER SKILLS ARE NECESSARY! JUST LOTS OF FOOD, FUN AND FELLOWSHIP FOR A REALLY GREAT CAUSE!!!

Thank You to all our fishing friends, and supporters of what Fun-n-Sun does.
God Bless and Good Fishing,
Jeff
THE LIST OF COMMITTED ANGLERS WILL BE POSTED IN THE TOURNAMENT SECTION OF TFF, CHECK THERE TO BE LOCKED IN

41 teams so far!

We now have sponsors coming on board with prizes so we will be making this thing even bigger in the next 2 months.
Monte Coon with Moritz and Kelly Jones with KickerFish Baits has offered to help.
Stay tuned....

Can we get a bonus prize for the biggest talapia brought in?

Those things have taken over the lake with millions of them around the bankline

Man I would love to be able to get my Airboat over there to shoot a bunch of them for the dinner table.

Your helping a good charity!

Unfortunately no, or I would have all my card playing buddies signing up lol. But- I do have some great tournament fisherman that well.... Suck.... at poker who are looking for a partner to fish with. Lol
PM me if you want to join one of them, but you have to fish. Only one of you have to play Hold em.

1/2 way full now

Thanks to Frito Lay, whi has donated the chips for the meal at weigh in so that will offset some cost and allow us to donate a little more to the HCCAC Charity.
