Rain, rain, rain, and yes we are getting rain today. I actually sit outside just inside my shop barley out of it, and watched it rain, it's awesome!!
We need a lot more of it but it makes you feel hopeful the lake will rise this winter.

Sand bass are starting to show up again on the main lake points, depths from 10 feet to 25 feet and catching them on slabs right now, mainly chartreuse. No schooling action, the fish are just moving up following shad along the bottom, but not all over the lake like we will see as we actually get into the Fall Fishing Season.

Catching good rod and reel Blue catfish which are holding along the bottoms, off points and humps in depths anywhere from 15 feet to 28 feet. We are using fresh caught shad for bait.

Crappie are on brush piles anywhere from 12 feet to 20 feet and holding on the bridge columns as well, anywhere from 3 to 5 turns of your reel handle off the bottom using minnows and jigs.

Im looking forward to catching lots of hybrid stripes this fall and we will. As the weather gets cooler we will start seeing feeding fish actually it may be feeding Seagulls that find the fish for us. So keep your eyes open for Gulls and Terns working over the water feeding on Shad that our sand bass and hybrids have chased to the surface. Now that true Fall Fishing!!

When you see this I hope you already have chartreuse sassy shad tied on, it's the best bait hands down to catch feeding hybrids on. Just make a good cast across the feeding frenzy with a steady retrieve; it's almost a sure Hook Up!!

Hope everyone has a chance to fish a little this fall. Maybe you have family coming down or just want me to put you on fish!!

Don't forget, now is a great time to thank about gift certificates for Christmas or birthdays.

Call or email Bob Holmes longest continuous working fishing guide on the lake and still the Record Holder and lets go fishing.

They will more than likely start pumping water from the wetlands starting next week. Testing the new pump. Won't raise the level, but the water won't be going down anymore. Will be an awesome hybrid spot lol if not marked by buoys
