Hey Gang,

Moved to Gainesville a year ago and hit the lake several time and tore up the sandbass on points and drop offs with Cotton cordell Jigging spoons.

I was just curious what the Patterns are for Winter? Im assuming they gather in Big Schools in main lake area.

Does fishing get tougher?

Do I need to stick with Jigging spoons?

Thanks!

Brandon

I don't fish Ray Roberts very much, but in wintertime, I tend to find sandies along submerged roadbeds. Depths can vary from 18' to 50+'

In many respects they are easier to catch in late fall all thru winter because they are concentrated on the bottom around mid lake humps. Transitions between 30 - 40 feet is where I will start looking. At times they can be hugging the bottom and if you don't have your depth finder on zoom.... at least 2x or up to 4x, you may drive right by them. Slabs vertical jigging on the bottom is the way to go.

Three forms are best, dead stick , dead stick and more dead stick.

Spoon on bottom, flop from side to side.
