Annual Public Service Announcement... I'm having my annual Dermatologist check up today. Please make it a point to get checked. We want you all around. I've run a Prayer List for 30-years. Last week we had a young Dad, 32, and father of two small kids, diagnosed with stage-4 melanoma. Please get checked and say a prayer for this Dad. Was off Monday since our daughter was in from San Diego.

After airport run- lake run and the fishing on Hubbard was great. Only bad thing was a boat kept driving through the schooling fish! Kindly asked him to please use the trolling motor. Rockwall Roy saw my car at Harbor Bay later on in the afternoon and called me. Ran in and grabbed Roy and we proceeded to continue to whack them. Only one hybrid but bunch of sandies. I kept (25) for an upcoming fish fry and Roy cleaned them while I put the boat up! Can't beat that. Great day and great weather... Happy Fishing.

Small update... They actually removed a spot on my shoulder today. Last year they did a similar procedure and it wasn't cancer so thankful for that! Hope to get the same results this year.....

Last year I posted about some pre cancer spots on my face I had removed. The doctor told me to keep a watch on them and come back in a year. Well they came back and I went to see the doc and sure enough it was skin cancer. I finished up treatment last week and they are gone and I'm still pretty. I want forget some one replied to my post last year and said the doctors always tells you its pre cancer. Like it wasn't a big deal! Guy's I'm telling you now get a regular check up and wear sun screen. Frank I pry that yours was just that a spot!! Thanks for the post to keep everybody aware.
Pat

Wow Pat had no idea. No telling how many people you may help with your post. Thanks for letting us know. I will hear back next week and am expecting it to be nothing. I guess that's called faith. Praying you stay pretty for a long, long time! Pick up the phone and make the appointment. We take care of our boats let's take care of ourselves.

You are absolutely right Frank. My brother has stage 4 melanoma and things are not looking good for him. I have had 3 spots of basal cell carcinoma removed. Melanoma is the number one cancer killer in America. Stage 4 melanoma is not survivable.

In college I was a life guard. I sat in a tower and put coconut oil all over me for a tan. I'm paying for it now. Protect yourself from the sun, your life may depend on it.

Again everyone this is a wake up call. Pastor John my thoughts and prayers are with your brother and his family. Prayers for your continued health also. Thank you for sharing with us about your brother. That drives the point home. If one man or woman gets checked than this thread has accomplished it's purpose. Early detection is key. I didn't start going until a few years ago when someone on here found they had skin cancer....

Mike I bet you didn't miss anything. No wind no fish. Terry (Tuna) and I ran out last night and was really slow. Zero wind. Nobody was catching so we didn't feel bad. Tomorrow south wind 10-15 and pre-front. I detect better fishing then! May run out with Aaron in afternoon.
