I plan to go to goose island in oct with my dad, Ive read the rule book about size and limits and if i have understood it, then If im there for 3 days then when I leave to go home I can only take 1 days limit with me right? Basicly if I can keep say 5 flounders a day then thats all im aloud to have in my positon at camp, in the boat, and at all times right? I cant keep a total of say 15 over a 3 day weekend can I?

You can take home a two day limit. I would freeze one of the limits.

Scott42, you are correct in your original interpretation.
With the exception of November (when it drops to 2), the daily bag limit for flounder is 5. For most fish the possession limit is 2 times the daily bag limit, however, with flounder the possession limit is one daily bag limit. In other words, if you caught 5 flounder on Friday, you would have to take them home, then return Saturday to catch 5 more. The possession limit does not include fish stored at or kept at your residence and the rules are very specific about what a residence is.
The definition of possession limit is on page 36 of the new rule book and the daily bag and possession limit for flounder is on pages 48 and 49.

Thanks guys, Im sitting here reading the rule book now and on the spotted seatrout it says a limit 0f 10 fish can be keeped per day except in the lower Laguna Madre which has a limit of 5. Im not understanding exactly where the two divide and where the rules are inforced. What area is Goose island conciderd to be? Can I keep 10 fish or is it 5 seatrouts in that area? Thanks.

You're allowed 10 trout per day at Goose Island.

The 5 limit starts at the Land Cut south of Baffin Bay (which is south of Corpus Christi)

As far as the flounder limit is concerned, while you're reading, check page 49, section C. It plainly states the possession limit is equal to the daily bag. One day, not two.

I see that, now the way I understand that section is its just in the month of November. The other 11 months are open to two limits.

That's not the way I interpret that. The possession limit is equal to the daily bag limit all the time. In November, it's 2 fish per day, 2 fish in possession. All other months, it's 5 fish per day, 5 fish in possession.
