I usually go to Galveston 3 to 4 times a year and usually end up fishing off the piers along the sea wall. When I am down their at the end of this month I would like to try other places. Would it be worth while to try Texas City Dike, Rollover Pass, Crystal Beach or maybe Surf Side. I have never been to these before and was just looking for feedback from those that may have. I am not targeting any particular fish just looking for other options

Rollover pass has been HOT recently. Theres always something biting, you just need to get down there and find out what it is and fish accordingly. Some days it's trout in the surf, some days it's reds. If trout, use live shrimp or croaker as natural baits, throw topwaters if youre into artificials. If redfish, throw live or cut mullet as natural, throw gold or silver spoons for artificials. Theres usually some flounder present, live finger mullet is the best for those. And the other day some guy pulled in 20+ golden croaker on small Gulp! artificials in chartreuse color.

The red run has begun down there so I would probably expect that. Bring a cast net or buy some bait....and good luck

I didn't catch anything in Crystal Beach (was down with family) but it was the first time in a long time i saw the waters alive with tons of fish in all the waves, so the bait was out there - just not sure about the action.

Any of the passes or jetties would be good options between now and Mid december. Bulls should start showing up in any of those locations and in late oct so will the flounder. Flounder are already starting to stage in upper tributaries and channels.

The jetties around the piers are always the best year around when I go there!
