Finally got to test the new Solo jigging reel from Wally. First of all, this is exclusively a jigging reel....not made to cast with. After years of using the plastic reels and little spool type reels I think this reel fills the bill. Super smooth retrieve, large spool, lightweight. I paired it up with a Wally Marshall 9' Signature med/light rod, 6lb test, and 1/12 oz jig. Sweet setup for sure. Don't have to worry about line getting behind the spool. That's huge to me, as nothing drives me nuts like having to tear a reel down and dig line out while I'm fishing. Not too easy to find yet, but I know Grizzly Jig has them. http://www.grizzlyjig.com/p-407-mr-crappie-solo-jiggin-reel.aspx You can also order straight from Lews. 417-881-5397
