If it was 34 inches it was a lake record!

You have to be registered ahead of time to enter a fish in the STAR contest.

I just moved here from Indiana and have been fishing for a few weeks down at the public pier by the causeway bait shop. I hear a lot of people talk about the north levee but where is it? Is the area by that pier called the north levee?

when you get off the bridge hit a right go all the way down past the coast guard past the gulf course then you will hit a street were you can only go left or right hit a left and its the north levee wall you can fish both sides

Lol this older guy showed me a trick to catch some big fish out there. Instead of just using cut bait. He actually filleted the fish and left the skin on each side and put the whole thing on a hook he was pulling in big reds and drums all day. The shiny side gives the visual, the the exposed sides gives out the scent trail and attracts them is what he told me. You have to try it one day at the levee.

spoil side, it should work on either though. He used mullet. He owns a shrimp boat there to.

We used to fillet bait to get the back bone out, and kept the tail intact, in current it fluttered like a live bait, worked pretty good. I haven't done that in a long time, forgot all about it.
