Went out yesterday after not fishing most of July and August due to the heat and slow fishing. Wasn't expecting to catch any large numbers. Fished about a dozen brushpiles, COE and ones that I've placed. We managed about 50 fish, but only had about 12 keepers. Although we tried a lot of different depths all the fish seemed to be hanging at 10 feet directly on top of the BPs. Almost all were caught on minnows. Tried jigs a couple of times and caught a few, but they clearly preferred minnows. My buddy Bob managed to catch 5 different species of fish, without a catfish, which is a new record for my boat. Good day on the water with a good friend. Looking forward to October.
