It seems that the top pros of BASS have started there down fall in and around the age of forty years old I'm not try to dog anyone but I did a little research. Roland looked to be in his prime in 1980 to 1981. Clunn was a little younger and more spread out but had a AOY in the early 90's. 40ish. KVD had the most success at around age 43. Although he definitely had success prior to that with all the AOY titles. I really don't think Kevin is done, just slowing down.
This is just an observation and something to watch.

Good post thanks for the info. Was not trying to be rude on my post about Brandon. I agree with you I don't think Kevin is done, far from done. Honestly I see a few more classic wins for him. It is cool to see Jonathan fishing as well.

I find it very interesting that at around 40 the wins start to slow down. Is it sponsor demands or age just like most sports?

The first thing to go when your back/knees/shoulders/etc
start to hurt is your focus and concentration.

That is why you see so many of the older pro's knock out 1 or 2 good days in a tourny but rarely the 4 in a row that it takes.

BASS is old enough now that they should do a "seniors" series -
Over 50 years, 2 day tourny Friday-Sunday with Saturday being
a "rest" day. Would love to see some of the old pioneers get out there and compete.

I agree, this would be cool! Man, having a day gap would be a curve ball in the mix too!
