Yes, in years past the championship was a no entry event.

The everstart will not fill all 3 events. the everstarts haven't filled up in a long time.

What are the BFL's looking like? And anyone looking for a partner for the BFL's either because I'm very interested in fishing them just wanted to know if I could find a boater.

2010 was a entry fee championship, they called it the invitational. 2011 and 2012 were no entry fee championships.

Man I would like to see Amistad on that schedule. Switch out the Oct rayburn for Amistad. It is on the rise, 10 ft over the last month and still rising.

I think going back to 3 tournaments was probably the right call for them. Hopefully there is a championship, I think not having one last year hurt them.

That area draws a lot of fisherman. From north east Texas to south Houston areas, east into Louisiana (they love TB and Rayburn) west.

They are going back to what it was in the early 2000's. That was where they drew the best crowds. They tried out west (last few years)....and no one signed up. wink

BTW Ron (TD) told me last year they wanted to go back to Falcon.....but as you know...it's a tad low.

He really tries hard to find places that will draw the numbers and tie down sponsors so they can have a Championship.

By far the nicest TD I have ever met.

If the schedule doesn't fit ya, there is always the BASS Opens....they go to some great mudholes and rivers...and let me know how long it takes you to get in and confirmed! smile

I normally do not say much but I fished the everstart series this year. Our biggest draw was Amistad with 120 plus. Toledo we had 89. Not sure if this idea of sticking to Toledo and Rayburn will increase numbers or not. I do agree with a couple of guys in this discussion. that there are guys from that area that can catchem any where. Me personally I may not fish if its just these two lakes I like to see different areas across the state. I do understand these are two of our best lakes in the state and wish everyone luck that fishes next year.

First tournaments of the year draw the most...then numbers go down each event.

What causes that? Economy? People getting in over their heads? Family Problems? Layoff at work? People can't stand the heat at Toledo in June (punching grass and passing out, throwing up)?

I think it's all the above. I've seen it all.

I agree 2/14/13 and Toledo being the second tournament. I'm sure burn out was starting to sit in.

I agree the area usually puts out good entry numbers but with the direction tourneys are headed I think entries will be low. The schedule gives a huge advantage to the local sticks, which are in general good sticks anywhere. That's going to keep a few people from shelling out a big entry. Amistad is a good fit because its a lake everyone wants to fish and its a reason to fish it yearly. I can put my money on about 3 teams that will win each one. But, its a great schedule to be a co angler.

I think it would be interesting to see Lake Travis on the schedule. I know it is way to low right now but it would be interesting.

I agree. You could drop Dicky in the middle of the desert and he'll catch a limit. Castledine, McCall,Cecil,Johnston-tuff crew anywhere they go.
