I was thinking of going to Texoma, Tawakoni or LL this Saturday or Sunday 8-24/8-25 maybe even getting a cabin or some such possibly some night fishing with the full moon it should be cool. Nothing is set in stone, I'd like to see if there is any interest in this, or if you have another lake in mind I would be game. Post up if you guys have any ideas and we can go from there.

I've been on the water the last 3 nights now with the full moon - absolutely great time to be on the water. Even though I usually don't fish weekends, I might be up for this.

If you are interested, I'm going cooper this Saturday. Not much boat traffic and an awesome hybrid fishery that is easy underfish.

Cooper may be fun too, I've never fished there, but I'm open to where the action is hot!

I'm dying to hit big T been reading reports of nice size stripers being caught daily. However, with the amount of traffic on the weekend I might just have to wait till cooler weather.

Does texoma require a special liscense? I've been wanting to fish there for a while now. Been hearing good things about cooper too.

As long as you fish Texas waters only, you can get by with a Texas License. The problem is that the channel/diving line runs all over the place and is very close to Texas shores at many locations.....so the safe way is to get a Texoma license which lets you fish any Texoma water.

I wouldn't recommend being "on the water" without at least a Texoma license. They are pretty much zero tolerance up there.

FYI...I live on Tawakoni and the boat traffic on the weekends has been almost non existent the last few week. Probably due to the low water lever. Down 7.5'. The striper fishing is best during the heat of the day off Sun point and is very good. Too hot for me! LOL

Looks like I may just stay local tomorrow morning and go to LL. Most likely around lake park and the dam.

That is NOT my understanding of the law up there. As far as I understand it: TX License: allows you to fish from Texas banks and the Texas side of the river below the dam (but you can't step foot into the water on the river) OK License: allows you to fish from Oklahoma banks and the OK side of the river as well as wade fish the river below the dam Texoma License: allows you to fish on the lake itself. I've always been told to fish on the water in a boat or kayak, you have to have the Texoma license, even if you have both a TX and an OK license (which I do). I have all 3 licenses and it's ridiculous.
