I have fished the ponds on the east side by the hwy 6 access and also the south side barker cypress ponds and off westbeimer rd all with no luck. I drive westheimer through the park on the way to work and see people there on occasion fishing. I have heard the park has at least one pond on the trout stocking program but don't know for sure. A lot more people fish the bayou and do good there from what i have heard but I have not done it myself. I've seen gar and carp while hiking and biking along the bayou but never fished it. Let us know if you go!

Thanks for the info, guess I will give it a shot after work on Friday or Saturday. Bayou it is then. Tired of driving 80 miles to get skunked. Creek and river fish for a while now.

Another local spot I've thought of is the 1093 bridge west of fulshear on the brazos - not too far of a drive and have seen guys catch catfish there.

There has to be some other guys on here who have had luck in the park - would love to hear about it!

I'm gonna try the Brazos @ I-10 tomorrow after work. Hear the water is clearing up. Will post my results.

Those ponds are a waste of time.
I've caught maybe 3 bass and a gar a few years ago.
But this was fishing at night during a supermoon.

Check out my FishingScout sig for what I caught at Bush Park.
I do not go to the ponds, I go the creeks feeding into Buffalo Bayou.

Buffalo Bayou is good for channel cats.
I've caught them with stink bait on a Santee Cooper rig.

Some folks have told me there's humongous cats in Buffalo, but in the Cinco Ranch area, but they may just be fish tales.

Either way, its kind of out of bounds for me since I'm not a resident there.
