Haven't been since I was a teenager but it looks like ill have a chance to fish sat and sun morning. Anybody know a good spot to put in relatively close to decent bass fishing? I won't have a ton of time on the water so a short paddle is ideal. Thanks in advance

Put in at Caddo State park boat ramp then paddle upstream this would be to the left. Turn left at first cut and paddle half way back. Have had a lot of luck in this area. Use a Texas rigged sinco, suggest this due to all the weeds, grass etc.
Good luck

I've done well using the Cathedral and Old Folks paddling trails on Caddo in addition to launching from the park where Palovik mentioned. Here's link for the trails: http://www.caddolakeinstitute.us/regatta2013.html#mapsThe trails are marked and they're kind to paddlers. When I fish the trails, I've found anything Texas-rigged works (I use baby brush hogs myself most often, but I've caught bass there on other plastics). I typically just use my fish finder to find the deeper water on the trails (6-10 FOW) and that's where I usually find the fish. I've caught them on cranks in those spots too, but Palovik is right that the lake is real weedy. Also, if you haven't fished Caddo before, know that it's experienced a rather pesky Salvinia outbreak that has affected a large part of the lake. Be sure to rinse your rig when you leave. Good luck at Caddo! It's become one of my favorite places to drive to to fish. It's an inspirational place to view the beauty of our world. Can't wait for the report!

Thanks fellas. You've really helped me. Last time I was there( before GPS) we got lost and didn't find the truck until after midnight. Caught a bunch of fish though, including my first and only pickerel. Ill post what I'm lucky enough to catch. Thanks again!
