Im about to purchase a new to me boat and I want to put me a MinnKota Talon on it.. after purchasing I am guessing its wise to have someone install it for you? Where's a good place to have it installed in the West fort worth area. Thanks fellow fishermans!

If set on letting someone else do it I would use a Minn Kota dealer to have it done. Should be lots of them in your area. Goto the Minn Kota website and do a dealer/installer search.

Went to spectate at the Forrest Wood Cup on the Red River last weekend. I followed Brent Ehrler around for a while. Honestly his two talons seemed really loud when he hit them. A lot louder than power poles. Anyone else notice this with talons?

They are a little louder. The motor is up top and not concealed in the bilge. Also you got all that stuff sliding down the inside of the housing.

Fun & Sun, ask Lance about the power plugs also. You will be happy!
Through God all things are possible! Thank him every day for the beauty he provides.

I installed mine myself, actually pretty simple. The only reason it took me as long as it did is I double checked everything constantly to make sure I wasn't messing up! I did eventually go in to FnS to have them hook up the green wire in to the ignition - so that the buzzer would go off if I started the motor with them deployed (required for warranty).
And yes they are pretty loud. The real question is how much of that noise gets down in to the water since the motor is at the top of the Talon. I don't know.
