Yes I got lucky today and didn't have to work. So I headed over to Lavon because it is easier to get to than hubbard. I hit the lake with my new Cobra 6 watt floating marine radio and let everyone one know i was on the water --LOL--. So they said come on over. Capt Larry,Carey, Jimbo and one other fella were on the air. We picked a the sandies and i probably only caught 25 all day with 5 of them keepers. We hit several spots that marked good fish but they just wouldn't get going. The north wind and high pressure must have shut them down. Saw all kinds of folks i have met on lavon over the years and it was good talking to everyone. Met a few new people as well nice to meet y'all.

After everyone left i stuck it out and just couldn't get em going. They are probably going full steam now i am at home rolfmao. Capt Larry called me on the radio and he said he adjusted his antenna and we were talking from way off. Those radios are the bomb . Easy to use and THEY FLOAT OMG rolfmao

Good to see everyone and here is a couple pics of a nice crappie and five keeper sandies and a BIG BALL OF SLIME I caught that felt like it was 12 pounds or bigger

Hubbard was slow too Keith. Saw a little top water action all totaled 5 mins worth. Caught 3 sandies and 5 yellows. Should have played golf instead...lol Glad you didn't have to work.

Nice job Keith! Great drum and crappie on that $10.00 combo! The rabbit is casting shadows now as the days are getting shorter. I was out on Lavon from 12-3 today and saw Capt. Larry coming in as I was leaving. Fun day to be out on the water!

Thanks Jeff. It was a good day weather wise to be on the lake though.. I drove by the Plano golf course and if all the other golf courses were like it today you would have been waiting in line rolfmao

Dang it David I forgot to holler at you again bang I'm sorry next time I PROMISE I will let you know i am going out there smile Glad you got out on Lavon today thumb

Guys that marine radio is the bomb on the lake. I think it would be a good idea on Hubbard in the winter for dead sticking. Guys like Sea pro Todd and Dr. whiplash would not have to worry about dropping their smart phones in the lake --LOL-- grin and they float too smile

Thanks for the report Keith, that front that come thru probably slowed them down. The weather this weekend was perfect to be out. I am glad dove season is here, I am not a hunter but it will lighten the fishing load on the lakes.

I was on Lavon today, marked lots of fish on the humps near the power plant, but no takers. I'm using the excuse of the east wind and the passage of the front, also the pressure not good. Or maybe I just suck at catching fish.

Plano Keith, it was nice meeting you on the water Sunday. Although we couldn't find any big sandies, my 11 yr. old son caught 5 fish and my 8 yr. old daughter caught 2 --- so they had a blast. At one point, we had a triple, which they thought was the funniest thing smile We ended up with about 30, but again, all really small. It was my first trip back on the water since my back/disc surgery in early July, so nice to be floating again.

By the way, where's the best place to purchase one of those Cobra 6 watt floating marine radios?

Alan

Hey Alan is was great meeting you and watching the kids catch fish. Glad your back is better. I got my radio at Bass pro shops. They were out at Cabelas. They also have it at west marine. Or i guess you could find one on line smile It is the Cobra HH 350 floating marine radio 6 watt. Hope to see you soon and again enjoyed meeting and fishing with y'all smile
