Our family has a small pond (3/4 acre) and we think the oxygen is really low. All the catfish and some large perch have died. Roughly 60-80 Catfish up to 6 pounds. I need someone to come out, preferably with a small john boat and pick up all the fish. Some may still be fresh and edible. I will pay for the services. Please call me if interested. The location is in Caddo Mills, Tx, just south of I30.

Marc,
In such a small pond it is likely that you have a lot of algae (green or brown stained water is your clue). If so, that algae produces oxygen in the daylight hours, but consume oxygen at night. Just before dawn your fish were likely up at the surface gulping air shortly before they died. If any of this sounds familiar to your situation, look at algae control. It's a real problem where you have runoff from ferilized hay fields or pastures with lots of livestock.
Best of Luck

Might have turned over too. That's when the algae is So heavy it sinks and pushes the 'dead' water to the top.
When I raised minnows, starting in July I had to run pH (algae) and O2 tests Every morning at sunrise. Did this through the middle of Sept. Depending on the numbers, I'd have to kill off some of the algae and / or run pumps.
Sorry to hear about the loss!
