Does anyone know if there is a boat ramp and if it's open?

There is a boat ramp at the narrows, but there is no water at the narrows. All public boat ramps on Lake Travis are closed due to the lake being so low.

Your best bet is to call and see if this place is still open to the public. Highlands lake marina. They charge $20 16120 Wharf Cove Volente, Tx 78641 512-788-0845 You may also want to research if folks are still able to put in at Pace Bend. Last I heard the sand has gotten soft and you need a 4 wheel drive. Pace Bend is off highway 71, or west of Lake Travis. It costs $10 per vehicle plus $2 for boat trailer https://parks.traviscountytx.gov/find-a-park/pace-bendPace Bend Park @30.459624,-98.019333

I suspected they were all closed. I dry stack at Emerald Point, so getting in the water isn't a problem. I just wanted to fish that northern end of the lake and was hoping to find a place to put in closer and not have to make the run from the basin all the way up the lake

I believe folks are still launching from the shoreline at Dink Pearson Park.

I launch frequently at Paleface. The last time was just over a month ago. I'll start with my Ford Ranger is not stock, 4.3L stroked V6, 33" tires (BFG All terrains or TSL super swampers, weather dependant), selectable locker (Limited slip or full lock) front axle, Detroit locker rear axle, modified suspension & 4.56 axle gear ratios. Before that I found a spot that no one else used, backed down, launched, pulled up, no problem. Loading was the same. I also was in 4 lo, idling. The last time i was out, the vegetation had grown up, people were everywhere and I ended up launching at the same place where everyone has and stirred up the sand. I was also on the TSL tires as I had heard it was getting worse. I launched the boat, remembered I forgot the drain plug, pulled out, let it drain, plugged, backed in, launched, pulled up the bank, yes it required gas and it slipped all the way. When I went down river by Dink, someone had buried a suburban and looked like a non stock jeep trying to get it out. When I got back it was after dark, no one around, my spot was chewed up. I backed down, no problem, loaded the boat, nope, not pulling out, I could feel it sinking. I unhooked the trailer, still not going straight up. SO i went somewhat diagonal to the shore, until I entered about a 3' deep gulley where water has created a spot when it rains and runs in the lake. I turned into it, found the bottom had some rocks and gave me traction to get up the bank. I then proceeded to use my winch and 2 tow straps to winch my boat and trailer up to my truck. I haven't been back since, but it has rained so I'm certain the sand has repacked some. Have also read on Austin Bass Fishing that tow strap is HIGHLY recommended at both locations And the DROP at Dinks is getting really close. So if you're not familiar don't use it, you could easily lose it in the drink!! Yeah it's long, but better to give you the poop, than someone go all the way out there and can't launch or load. Good luck! And if I happen to be out there, I'll gladly pull anyone I see out that needs it, never know when I might need the same. I rescued several, sometimes even needing someone to anchor me with another vehicle, because sometimes I'm just sliding myself closer with the winch.

Dang that's too much trouble to go through just to fish. Head over to belton or stillhouse. No issues launching from there ramps and fishing has been excellent.

I'm surrounded by water within minutes to an hour, so Travis isn't my only option. But it is nice right now being 60' low, not much boat traffic, even in the summertime!!!

I'll stick with whatever I have to go through at Pace Bend, at least it's a Republic of Texas Park, unaffected by the supreme idiots of the USSA!!

After seeing the lake level, the whole lake is the narrows.
