Just wondered if anyone has fished for hybrids at night with lights beside the boat, etc. I used to catch the heck out of them up in AR this time of the year that way. Used nightcrawlers off the bottom in about 30 ft of water while anchored. I am close to Tawakoni and have always wanted to try this method.

They can be caught on tawakoni for sure. I would think if you put a night crawler down under lights a yellow bass or sandy or catfish would nail it before a hybrid would have a chance. I'd throw a kahuna spoon from moes or a gizzard shad to discourage the little fish. Also if you aren't real familiar with tawakoni I'd learn it in the daylight and have a reliable GPS before I even thought about fishing it at night.

Absolutely they can. I've been out hunting crappie and ending up with nothing but sandies. This is at Sandlin though and places are different. I would imagine any fish in the area would be attracted

I think I've seen videos of people do this at good sandy/hybrid lakes near bridge pilings.

Hung a nice one late in the evening a few weeks back. Sucker hit a big ol' minnow. Was fishing with a 6' ultra light with 6# spider wire. Cleaned the spool 4 times before I managed to turn him around good. 24" 8.6#. He was a fat boy, too. We were drifting about 30 yards off the buoys behind the DWU pump station in 16' of water.
