I am looking to find a cabin or resort to stay at on Texoma. I want to fish obviously but the wife, 3 year old, and 8 year old are more interested in swimming and boating. I am looking for a place that is kid friendly, boat slip, on the water, and would prefer a pool or at least a really nice swimming beach. Anyone have some suggestions? We dont need anything fancy...just clean.
thanks

Tanglewood is a nicer resort with pool, golf course, and restaurant, but doesn't have the boat slips and not as waterfront as you may like. Little Mineral has cabins with a nice little beach, slips, cleaning station, small restaurant, no pool. Grandpappy restaurant is also just across from the little mineral arm. Lighthouse is right next to littler mineral and has cabins, beaches, slips, no restaurant Couple of lakehouses for rent on www.vrbo.com

Little mineral and lighthouse both have beach swimming areas you should be able to walk to from cabins. Its a good location to launch a boat too because its kind of located in the middle of the lake. About a 3 minute ride northeast will put you on the east main span and another 15 minutes going west around preston point will put you on the west main span. With some binoculars you could site close to 1/2 the lake within 30 minutes. When it gets really hot you can take a 15 minute ride towards the damn and get on a nice white sand beach at butterfly cove against the cliffs. Thats my favorite swimming hole in the summer because it very deep so you can beach the boat and it always seems colder in the summer than othe areas on the lake and the cliffs provide good shade late in the day. Swimming on the beach in 100+ temps can be like swimming in warm bath water.
