About 6 years ago, My exwife and I drove up north to east of Bonham and spent a Christmas eve with a friend (now ex) of ours and his parents.

We went through Bonham and saw signs of Lake Bonham and Bonham state park. I remembered this last year and made reference to it in my journal.

I recently looked up Lake Bonham and the state park. Love the surrounding country.

Has anyone ever fished there and if so would you ever go back.

Thanks, have a great weekend

Don't go to the state park lake, it is shallow over 90% of the lake, 1'-1.5' deep.

Offering advice to not go here because it is shallow is bad advice. I went just a few weekw ago and it was a great fishing trip. Caught lots of big fish. Just 1 end is pretty shallow, but deeper than 1-1.5 ft. Im planning another trip soon and id recommend going to get your own opinion on the place. Youll only get mixed reviews on here. The last poster probably just had a bad fishing day. And yes i have pics if you wanna see!!

The state park lake has a ramp. It is a no wake lake. A bass hunter or kayak works good. It's full of good size channel cat, crappie and bass. I've caught a 2.73 lb. crappie and an 8 lb. cat there. We go there regularly during the week when there isn't many people there. The fishing pier can get crowded on the weekend. There is plenty of bank fishing.

Nice fish....
The lake description sounds exactly like what I would love to fish.

I have Creek company float tube and Pontoon both. Most Likely I would take them both.

Thanks for the Knowledge.
