So I am finally able to do some fishing since moving to the lake in March. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have never fished a lake with such large shallow flats and so little cover. Other than docks what are the patterns and where are the brushpiles?

What depth are the bass concentrated in?

basscats, welcome. I am going to be up there I think tomorrow. I have days that are good, and some that are bad, and some that just plain suck! I went for awhile last Saturday, caught one on brush in 10' and a couple of dinks shallow. All on a shakey head.

Brushpiles, wish I could tell you, the best thing to do is turn on the depthfinder and go hunting.

Graph any point on the lake and you'll find brushpiles. And as with all lakes, look for structure: ledges, humps, breaklines, channels and ditches, holes, roadbeds, etc. Look for bottom composition changes. Any of the above with cover added: brushpiles, stumps, laydowns, sunken ocean liners (just kidding) sweeten the potential. Find the thermocline on your graph, then go to spots where the structure and cover intersect the thermocline. Start catching fish.

The thing about little structure is it concentrates the fish on what's there. Look where you think it should be put. You will find it. SI is a huge help.
