Wanting to take the wife down in the next month or so. I will take the yak and fish in the morning then hang out during the day. Wanting a hotel with a lighted pier so we can both fish at night. Doesn't have to be a Hilton but don't want to dodge roaches either. Thanks

Not any hotels with docks that I'm aware of. They do have a fishing pier on the north side of town

http://www.rockportnet.com/stay.html has a few with fishing piers, just search Rockport, TX accommodations on google and there are quite a few with private or access to public fishing piers. I cannot comment on them as I either stay at the state park or a friends place when I am down there.

do you or the wife require a nice place? Balboa court located on water street has an excellent pier but the rooms are basic deer camp cabins. cost about $50-75 a night great for fishing but 1 star on the rooms... Kontiki resort on the Fulton end has a bit better rooms decent lighted pier but also a bit more in cost. look at the Rockport/Fulton chamber of com. website for a complete listing of places to stay

Sandollar resort. I stayed there a few years back. Great 700ft pier (lighted) and marina. You can only access the pier as a guest of the hotel by using your room card if i remember correctly. http://www.sandollar-resort.com/I also enjoyed the room.

Was down there 2 years ago and this was the most enjoyable place for me and the wife. Has lighted pier, with small parking space next to the pier. The pier is one street over from the cottages. The rooms were extremely clean, and I will go back again. http://www.pelicanbayresort.com/
I would rather die finding out there was no God than die finding out there is.

Well, I guess I was wrong. I've only rented houses while down there and what hotels I saw I don't remember them having a lit up pier.
