Just bought a New Skeeter I Class with the graphs in dash.
The problem is I'm having trouble seeing detail with sun glare on the screen.
Having to lift up in the seat to see detail.
Anyone else seen this problem ??
Thinking the ram mount should help.
Please help me out. Dealer wanted $700.00 to change it to a Ram mount.

Can you install a removable hood over the display?

$700 for the change is rediculous. Is their labor charge more than $250 an hour?
What model do you have in-dash---the complete model name.

700 is way high do it yourself and save that money its easy to do.

And yes I prefer ram mount units you can move them how ever you want plus you can take them off the boat.

I'll do it for $600! (Kidding, although I would! LOL). Seriously, if it's in the factory spot, you are talking about a mounting plate, and some screws, plus the actual mount. Maybe $100 in parts (nicely made panel cover, strong backplate, standoffs, some screws/all thread, and change to spare), and another $100-200 in labor would be fair (cutting, drilling, etc the plates to fit nicely, maybe 1-3 hours work in total). If it's ram-mounting to the side (requiring no fabrication at all), then that's insanely ridiculous, mount plus $50 labor for that, tops.
I second the sun shroud idea, although the removability factor is nice for the ram mount option. I don't keep mine on my boat even though it's in a locked shed in a gated storage facility.

Ram mount. You can move it and if another person is with you, you can adjust it so both can see it. Also, if parked somewhere, you can take it off of the boat. When a sonar is turned off, they all look expensive and people like to steal things.

I'd leave it in dash and make a removable visor for it. I never thought it would be any trouble to just put on my graph when I got to the lake. Now its just one more pain I have to take care of before launching or heading back home. I suggest you get in someone's boat that is the same model as yours and see if you like a ram mounted graph as well, it definitely blocks part of the view that I'd like to have in my boat.
