First Tarpon on the fly! Caught on a 9wt with a purple/chartreuse tarpon toad that I tied myself. Braved a lagoon called the "crocodile pit" to get to them. Didn't expect anything this big. Had to fight off a small croc for a small second tarpon that my buddy caught. Wish I had my GoPro on for that.

Nice! Where did you go?

I'm in San Pedro (Ambergris Caye), Belize. One of the guys at the resort found them while he was walking around birdwatching so we went back. A lady who owns a store right next to where we were standing came over and took pictures because according to her, we were the first people to actually land one a fish out of the lagoon.

It made 4 absolutely spectacular jumps along with another one that I didn't get to see because of the mangroves. The spot I was casting from isn't anymore than 15 feet wide.
