I would contact them. I love Fenwick spinning rods (never used their baitcasting outfits). The metal guides are the only way to go (not sure if the one you are talking about has them)! They are my oldest, most used, most abused rods that are still just as great today as they were when I got them new. I have 2 older hmx that I use for my trick casting seminars.
When they changed the models a little, I freaked and contacted Fenwick.
They said the blanks were still available for my rod. So I imagine, if you contact them about this you may be able to at least get a blank (or find a dealer that still has them).
