It seems like a great idea but I wonder where they are collecting their data. I can't imagine that there are hundreds of real time field testers out there providing up to the minute reports as to what type and color TX rig is producing on your exact location at the exact time you are going to be there. I don't see how it is possible. It must be historical data which you can find online for free and save the $35 annual membership fee.

They collect all their data from tournaments fished on that body of water.
I've been a trucker for yrs so haven't been able to fish as much as i'd like , but i'm trying to learn. My son goes with me , so that is cool,he is trying to learn also, we both want to become better fisherman.

Hey folks, we have 5,000+ patterns from all over the US and more everyday. Right now most patterns get entered by us at BassGold (yes we have entered thousands!). That balance will shift as more and more people use BassGold, but for the time being we are at the mercy of the tournament organizations and whether they report decent pattern info or not. Many do not do a good job of this, but I hope they improve, it's easy to do and really is the only legacy we can leave as bass anglers.
BassGold is an amazing resource, and it sort of requires a new (or new/old) way of thinking about patterning bass. In other words, patterning works because bass do the same things year after year in the same WATER TYPES, not just lakes. This has kind of been forgotten in the GPS era.
I'll stop there -- I can go for a while on this stuff.... Pls ask me any Qs if you ever have them. And just know to get the most out of BassGold, you have to spend time with it, just like any piece of fishing gear.
