Picked up our new to us 2006 Ranger 188vs today. Boat trailer has a tongue that slides in and out. I can feel it bumping when stopping and starting. I assume thism has something to do with trailer brakes on the ranger trail trailer. I'm not used to it as my last boat did not have it. Is this normal? Also noticed you can stop and the lever to disconnect it from the ball is actually not accessible unless you pull it up a little. Again, is this normal?

Yes, this is all normal. Also, be sure to check the release that is underneath the sliding part to ensure it is loose every time you connect the trailer. Mine has never been engaged, but was given that advise from dealer when I bought mine. It should move freely.

Yep. Low on brake fluid. Marc Mitchell showed it to me today and fixed it right up with a little brake fluid.
