I have not been on Fork since Champs in March, so I was not expecting much. My best friend and I loaded up and left Rockwall at 4:15 in the morning and headed that way Wednesday. We covered a ton of water and caught fish most places we stopped. The early bite was not what we thought it would be with the overcast conditions, it was slow until the day heated up a little.

We had 20-25 fish, the biggest was 8.20. We had 12 between 3 and 6lbs and several quality unders and a few dinks. We caught fish on a football jig, c-rig, shakyhead, top water and crankbaits, medium - deep divers. Most our quality fish were caught in 6-12 FOW. A few were deeper that 12 feet and our top water fish were shallower. We also caught 40-50 sand bass on 1 deeper spot.

Had a great "Fork" moment, we had been fishing a spot for about 20 minutes and a boat idles just past us and anchors 30 feet from us and starts dropping live bream right where we were fishing, it was comical. grin About 10 min after they anchored up we caught 4 fish and an 8.20 on a crank bait, the "bream brigade" wasn't too happy. LOL!

Good Times!!

Driving up tomorrow. Fishing through Monday. Can't wait.

Fished Fork last weekend and the fish were slow in the morning and picked up as the day went on Saturday. We were bustin' them until that storm blew through. After that it was pretty dead. Had a little better luck Sunday morning than Saturday morning.

I have a Largemouth at home....sometimes she lets me go fishing.

Haha last time I went to Fork a guy pulled up and dropped live bream next to us, except HE caught a 9 pounder and WE caught nothing. Talk about upsetting.

Sounds like a good time to me. If people think tourney anglers will cut you off, live baiters to me are by FAR the worst at doing what the bream brigade did to you.
