I'm here at surfside and it seems rough. Any ideas? I'm wanting to fish the surf with my kids. I only brought light tackle- I'm I sol or would anything work? Seems rough for a popping cork.... Thanks for any tips!

Use a Carolina rig with 2oz weight and get the bait between the waves. I've caught some bug fish when the surf is ruff and dirty

I am spending the week at Surfside Beach with family in tow. Be ware of the jellyfish. My kids are wearing rash guards to cut down on the number of jellyfish stings. Check out Wilkopedia for remedies.
Light tackle is fine. We are trying to do our fishing at the jetty in the early morning. I am cutting back from 17 pound line to 12 pound line. My brother brought an ultra light and fished the surf with 6 pound line this afternoon.
